Part 2 / Media 1

It is obvious that, all the newspapers, television channels, magazines, and radio stations are influenced by the ideologies and the ideas of the owners in Turkey. Evert tv channels have a different the way of evaluating news, political events and the declarations of politicians.

Some of the tv channels are known that they have a close relationship with the government or the leader political party. Therefore, the disadvantages or the bad ways of a new laws or methods that the government suggests, are not reflected these channels. For instance, when the administration of ATV channel changed, the anchorman Ali Kırca transferred to other channel, too. Because the new owner was the relative of the current president and the way of revealing the news would be so biased. The situation is the same, considering newspapers and magazines. The political attitude of the writers are perceived decisively due to their way of commenting about events. For example; the difference between the newspapers ZAMAN and CUMHURIYET is associated with the distinctive ideologies of owners and writers. ZAMAN is known as more conservative that is close to the government and CUMHURIYET is known as leftwinger that is seen its articles which critises the government explicitly.

The most explicit example of how the owner influences the media is Aydın Doğan’s changing attitude after his quarrel with the president. The critics increased after the quarrel obviously.
